St Christopher’s is delighted to announce that the BSME Young Musicians of the Gulf (YMoG) will once again take place as a virtual competition to allow all schools throughout the region to take part. This will ensure our young musicians are able to share their considerable talents and the results of many hours of practice on a safe but meaningful, performance platform.

Live music has become an important symbol of recovery from these challenging times and here at St Christopher’s we want to encourage students to keep music alive and have the opportunity to be part of world class music making.

Once again, we are only able to accept solo, virtual performances.  Each participant will be asked to record and submit a performance for each round of the competition. These 4 separate videos are due by the deadline of 3 February 2022.  Our independent adjudicators will have access to the videos one day before streaming and students progressing to the next stage will be announced at the end of each round.

YMoG has allowed our young musicians to compete against the very best in the Middle East and has always been much more than a competition; it is an opportunity for friendships to be forged and renewed each year. As the world emerges from the pandemic we very much look forward to welcoming our competitors back to Bahrain sometime in the future.
